Longmont United Hospital Joy Fan Motor and Blade Replacement

The Timberline Service Team was contracted with to make repairs to the large joy fan that provides supply air to the hospital. We found that one of the fan blades was broken and the motor bearings were failing. The blade replacement was simple to resolve, but the location of the motor in the middle of the fan housing wasn’t. The Timberline team took on this challenge and worked with a local structural engineering company to determine the proper sized pipe to support the motor in the middle of the fan housing. The team worked safely and was able to move the failed motor out, and the new motor in using a gantry crane and chain falls (no manual lifting). In one 8-hour day, the hospital had this redundant fan up and running.
